About the workshop
Spot On Panel Beaters has been family-owned and operated since 2003, working out of a workshop at 24 Barrys Point Road in Takapuna — just ten minutes from the Auckland CBD.
Owner-operator Dave is a master panel beater with more than 30 years of hands-on experience. He has a reputation for the kind of meticulous, complex repairs that other shops turn away, and he personally inspects every vehicle after painting to confirm the colour match and finish are right. His wife Adele runs the office and keeps every job moving smoothly.
The philosophy is simple: treat every car as if it were our own, and make the whole process as hassle-free and relaxing for you as possible — not the rushed conveyor-belt experience you get at a large repair factory.

What we do
From insurance smash repairs to a stubborn water leak no one else can find, every job is handled in-house by Dave and the team — on all makes and models, for both insurance and private work.
Full accident and smash repair across all makes and models — dents, dings, breaks and scrapes from collisions of any size. Dave guarantees every job is finished to a standard that looks like the accident never happened.
Warrant of Fitness body and structural repair work to get your vehicle through its WOF. We take care of the body-related items an inspector flags so you can re-present with confidence.
Tidy repair of dents and scratches across every body panel — the everyday car-park knocks, trolley dings and scrapes — restored and refinished so the damage disappears.
Full body and paint refinishing carried out with industry professionals. Whether it's a single panel or a complete respray, Dave personally inspects every vehicle post-painting to confirm the colour match and finish quality.
Water leak detection and repair is a genuine specialty of the workshop. Dave is known for tracking down and sealing even the most stubborn automotive leaks — the ones other shops give up on — serving the North Shore, West Auckland and the CBD.
A loan vehicle is available to keep you on the road while your car is in for repair. Numbers are limited, so booking is required — just let the team know in advance and we'll arrange one for you.
We work with all major NZ insurance companies and can manage your claim from start to finish. Remember: who repairs your car is your choice — you are never obliged to use your insurer's preferred repairer.

Bring your vehicle in or call us. Dave assesses the damage and gives you an honest, no-obligation quote — completely free.
If you're claiming, we liaise with your insurer and handle the paperwork. Private jobs go straight onto the schedule.
Your car is repaired and refinished in-house. Need to stay mobile? Ask about a courtesy car when you book.
Dave personally inspects every vehicle post-paint for colour match and finish before it's handed back to you.

We accept credit cards (a 2.5% surcharge applies to credit card payments). Afterpay is not offered. Talk to Adele in the office about the payment options that suit you.
We're at 24 Barrys Point Road, Takapuna — about ten minutes from the Auckland CBD. We're open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm, and closed on weekends.
